We all know we should eat healthy every day, but that can often be a challenge while when you’re always on the move or immersed in a marathon studying session. Improving your diet can only improve your mental and physical wellbeing to help you do better in everything in your life. With limited means and time to cook full meals, what’s a girl to do? Well, below are a few tips and recipes to help you get started on the road to a better diet.
First thing’s first, your tools. Few people realize what little things you need in order to cook a healthy meal. You don’t need a full-on stove or even a hotplate. (By the way, check your specific dorm’s rules on what you can and cannot have in the way of electronics. This is more for your safety than anything else.) Have you ever had a rice cooker before? This simple contraption does SO much more than just cook rice. Try boiling ready-to-cook pasta, steaming vegetables in a removable steaming tray or cooking soup. The handy little grill which is super inexpensive and comes in a few sizes are great for grilling packaged fish or chicken, making grilled cheese sandwiches or even treating yourself to a healthy burger . And, of course, the ubiquitous college microwave. What would we do without it? So many healthy meals can be made by simply preparing a meal and pressing a few buttons.
