The weather is crisp and cool, the leaves are turning striking shades of yellow, orange and red, and everyone’s getting excited for the coming of many holidays. The only sad part is that summer’s over – bye-bye bikini beach days and picnic dates under the boardwalk. But don’t get sad, there are so many fun fall dates to be had!
Fall is what big campus universities live for. C’mon, you know what I’m thinking of – football season! Face paint, mascots, alumni tailgates – what could be a better date destination? Grab your sweetie, put on your best university-supporting attire and cheer on the home team together!
Get in the Halloween spirit by going to try on costumes, or even better, making costumes together. Carve pumpkins and toast the seeds for fun munchies. Head over to your nearest campus coffee shop where everything should be pumpkin or apple flavored. A pumpkin spice latte and a cinnamon apple strudel? Sign me up!
Speaking of apples, picking apples at a nearby farm is always a good idea. Orchards are cheap and easy. You pay for what you pick, there’s usually hot apple cider brewing, plus when you get home you can start baking that scrumptious apple pie together!
If you go to school out in the country, or have a great big national park within driving distance, hiking is a perfect way to work up a sweat, experience the beauty of nature, and get to know your partner. It’s not as cliché as ‘taking a long walk on the beach,’ but essentially, that’s what you’re doing… taking a long romantic walk through the woods!
If the two of you have been dating a while, it might be a fun idea to head up to the Big Apple and watch the Thanksgiving Day parade in real life! The floats, the music, the atmosphere in general. Cozy up with a blanket on the bleachers and enjoy the show with your beau!
