College to do list

College is a wild ride. There are new people, new places, and a whole lot of freedom. Make the most of your time there before you have to step out into the non-scholastic ‘real world’. Here is a list of top things to do before you graduate.

• Sleep in. These days won’t last forever. When you have a late morning start, take advantage of it once in a while and turn off the alarm.

• Sit in on interesting classes. Sitting in on classes that are interesting but not in your own program, can be a great learning experience. You are there, and if you have the time, why not?

• Take an epic road trip. Build those memories. Pile your friends in the car for a last minute, spontaneous road trip to see the world’s biggest ball of twine.

• Stay up all night and watch the sun rise. Once in a while, this can be a magical experience.

• Do an exchange program. Make sure to keep you GPA up to ensure you can take advantage of this unique opportunity.

• Learn a foreign language. Do not let the chance of learning a second language pass you by. It is invaluable knowledge.

• Volunteer. Give back to the community that supports you.

• Host a party. You have got to do this. If no one hosts parties, there won’t be any. Take a turn and keep it classy.

• Learn a new sport. College sports clubs are more varied than high school options. Learn something new.

• Perform a college prank. Write your name into college history.

• Support your college’s arts program by going to exhibitions, concerts, and theatre events

• Support your college’s sports programs by attending away games, don’t forget the less fan-based sports. They need the support too.

• Mentor a newcomer. Freshman year isn’t easy. Help someone out and show them the way.
