First date conversation starters

Here are some things to talk about on a first date. There are many topics to avoid on a first date because it can create awkward moments. Here are some things to bring up on a first date.

Siblings: Ask about your date’s siblings. This is typically a nice safe topic to discuss. Try to avoid talking about her parents at first because you never know if they experienced a divorce or separated. Siblings are usually safe and will show her that you care about her family and are interested in getting to know them.

Travel: This is a great conversation starter for both sides. Ask her where she has traveled before and how her experience was. You can share your experiences as well Then, ask her where she has always wanted to travel but has not had the chance. If things work out, you can surprise her later by taking her there.

Career: Ask about her career. If she is in school, ask her what she is studying and what she plans on doing when she graduates. If she already graduated, ask her about her job and if it is what she wants to do with the rest of her life. You can share information about your job and career as well.

Friends: This is a great question. Ask her about her friends. Ask how she met them, who her best friends are, what her friends are like, what she likes about her friends, etc. This will help you get to know her and what her taste is like.

Free-Time: Ask her what she likes to do in her free-time. Does she like to chill out and watch movies all day on her day off or does she hit the trail and go hiking? This is a great question to ask!
