Giving Up Dairy

There are foods that I really love. They include cheese, ice cream, dark chocolate, and half and half in my coffee. There are certain foods that my body doesn’t love. They include cheese, ice cream, dark chocolate, and half and half in my coffee. I know, lucky me, right? Now this is all a new thing. Up until about three months ago I never noticed any problem when I ate these things. But lately they leave me bloated and feeling tired. At first I wasn’t sure what was going on until one of my friends suggested that I cut out dairy. You always hear all of these celebrities and health gurus talk about how dairy isn’t really that good for your body and that you should cut it out. So, I have taken the plunge and decided that I am breaking up with cheese, and chocolate, and ice cream, and basically every other really fun food in my life, since they all contain dairy. I am only on day 3 so I can’t say if I actually feel any different. ! I felt pretty proud of myself yesterday when I ordered my coffee with almond milk instead of my usual half and half. I won’t lie and tell you it was nearly as good, but I felt like I was doing something good for my body. Grocery shopping has been an experience. I never actually realized how much food contains dairy. My go-to comfort food is sour cream and onion potato chips, which up until now I didn’t know had dairy in them. Also, there is no way I am getting on the vegan cheese bandwagon. Overall I think that cutting out dairy will be good for my body. I am thinking of it as spring cleaning for my body. I am curious, have any of you cut out dairy and had success
