Good for the Soul

One of the most rewarding things in life is to do something good for someone else to help them out in some way. Many student organizations are dedicated to a good cause and helping in the communities in around them or even on a national level.
Getting involved in a student organization that benefits some philanthropy will help give you the break from the stress of college life that you sometimes need. It will also help you to take a step back when things feel hard or overwhelming and get a glimpse of the things that truly matter in life.
On a local level you can get involved in a local shelter or even church and spend some time helping others. You could also get involved in a larger scale through major philanthropic organizations. Students have set up dance marathons, races and more to raise money for organizations. The opportunities that you have to make a difference in someone’s life is not one that should ever be taken for granted.
You also should get involved in philanthropic organizations for the experiences that they give you. Learning how to take a group of people to work towards one common goal while tying together all of their strengths is a very valuable experience that will benefit you in the long run.
If you are feeling extremely inspired, you can even start your own philanthropic organization to help people in need that may not be receiving the assistance that they really need.
You could also consider volunteering with a club or organization that goes on trips to different areas of the country to lend their services in rebuilding communities and educating youth.
Don’t ever let the stress of college keep you from remembering how important it is to help those around you in the community and world.
