As college girls, we all know the feeling of not getting enough sleep. The worst thing about not sleeping enough is the fact that our skin tends to break out when we don’t get those needed 7-8 hours of sleep every night. Although it can be difficult to avoid staying up late and studying every night, you can do the most you can to make sure you skin stays as smooth, clear, and healthy as possible. Here are some great foods that actually fight acne!
Foods that have omega-3 fatty acids include things like walnuts, salmon, etc. These foods help make your skin naturally glow! Not only do these types of foods benefit your skin, they also have many health benefits that come with them. Salmon is one of the best fish to eat!
Foods that are high in vitamin C are great for your skin. Try eating a lot of tomatoes, strawberries, melons, oranges, etc. All of these foods help to boost your immune system. They also keep your skin safe from acne breakouts and acne scarring. They can heal your skin if it is irritated or damaged.
Foods with high water content are great for your skin too. While this means to definitely eat up those watermelons and cucumbers, it also means staying hydrated can actually clear up your skin. You should be drinking half of your body weight in ounces of water every single day. Buy a water bottle and fill it up to make drinking water more fun, and to also remind you to drink enough every day. They come with a filter so you can drink water from practically anywhere and it will be clean!
Foods with vitamin E are great as well. These include soybeans, almonds, nuts, leafy greens, and eggs. Throw a salad together and you can include all of the foods just mentioned in one serving. If that doesn’t sound appealing to you, scramble some eggs or carry almonds with you to class so you can fill up on foods that are great for your skin.
