You have to remember that your reputation will always precede you, so it’s best to put your best foot forward at all times.
Managers who are socially perceptive also can be more successful than others. Knowing how to read people and their body language is a great asset to have. Besides have contacts in the industry, it’s highly beneficial to understand the people you work with and know what makes them satisfied.
