Not Your Average Date

Dinner and a movie can be a fun first date, but after a while, let’s face it, it can get a bit monotonous. If you are in a relationship, you should know it is important to keep your dating life fresh and exciting. Here are a few “fresh” date ideas to keep your relationship alive and thriving!

Movie Surprise at Home
Take turns cooking your partner’s favorite meal at home and surprising each other with one of your favorite movies that he or she does not know about. This gives both of you a chance to do something sweet for your significant other, and also gives you a chance to learn something new about them. It’s kind of a “twist” to the typical dinner and a movie date.

Book Swap
If you and your partner love to read, (and even if you don’t, everyone has at least one favorite book in the world, right?) plan a night where you will have a book swap. Each of you have to bring your favorite book, read the first chapter of the book to your partner, and then swap your books and take them home to finish reading. That gives you something fresh and new to discuss next time you get together. You may discover that you cannot stand your partner’s favorite book, or you may actually love it!

Surprise CD
Burn a CD for your partner with some of your favorite songs and get your partner to do the same. Spend an evening together listening to the CDs. Listening to music together is a great way to get to know someone better and makes for a great bonding experience!

Coffee Hopping
Set aside an evening and Google all of the coffee shops in town. Make a list, hop in the car, and try the most popular drink at each coffee shop. Who knows, you may find the world’s greatest cup of coffee on your adventure!
