Security guard interview questions

For any company, hiring a security guard can be a serious and huge responsibility. When they interview to hire a new security guard they will want to be sure they are hiring the best possible candidate. If you are interested in becoming a security guard you should practice on some potential interview questions.
Many of the interview questions may be geared more toward the specific role of a security guard. An interviewer may ask you to tell them about a time when you dealt with an angry person in public and did not use physical force. You should explain how you successfully handled the case with words only.
Another common question is to describe a time when you worked with a team to solve a problem with a former security job. If you’ve never had a security job before then just relate the question to any previous employer.
Be prepared to answer any number of discussion questions. Have you had to deal with an assault? How did you handle the situation? Could you have done anything differently?
They will want to know how you have dealt with threats. Here they may ask you to describe a time on the job when you felt as if you were in physical danger and what did you do? What was the outcome?
Are you able to use computers and feel comfortable with them? Important from a safety stand point are you CPR certified? What about First Aid and AED certification?
Make sure you are prepared for ethical questions because they will point to your integrity. They may present scenarios for you to answer. If you found a fellow guard was accessing information about the company he shouldn’t, but if wasn’t important information in your opinion, what would you do?
There also may be questions to test your logic and problem solving abilities. What if you were called to handle an emergency on the 18th floor of a building, but five guests are waiting to be checked in at the front desk. Then they will throw in that you are currently working alone. What would you do?
