Take Risks

Life is short. The four years that you spend in college are going to be some of the greatest experiences of your life but they are also going to be the fastest. If you aren’t making the most of these times, you are going to look back and say “what if” for certain situations.
With all of the opportunities that college offers, it is important to take risks. You have to step out of your comfort zone every once and awhile in order to continue to develop yourself as a person. The experiences that you have at your fingertips in college are not going to come to your way at this frequency in your life.
By taking risks in college, you could even develop friendships with people who you have never met before who will teach you even more about yourself.
Try out new classes, new clubs and organizations that will open up your experiences academically and non-academically. These will be great things that you can talk about in a future interview and add to your resume.
Take a trip to another country with a class project, try out an internship in a new city that you have never been to before or even explore a class in a subject area that you have never considered studying before.
In order to keep growing throughout college, you need to become comfortable taking risks. Stepping out of your comfort zone will definitely pay off in the long run once you take steps to continuously try new things.
Trying new things could lead you to continue pursuing something that you unexpectedly became really interested in or attached to. Don’t let your college years pass you by and have yourself waking up once day saying that you wish you would’ve done something.
