The truth is that many couples find each other on campus. So what is the best way to partner up while your earning your degree, without being distracted from your studies?
Hands down the easiest way to meet new people on campus is by living in a dorm room for your first year. And finding love is no exception. Chose a co-ed dorm if you can and be sure to participate in a lot of the social activates that are organized by the student residence committee. Even if your love doesn’t live in the same building as you, this will open up your social network so that you will be more likely to meet up with eligible singles.
When it comes to finding true romance, your choice of school matters too. If having someone religious in your life is important you might want to consider going to a religious college. If big cities are the place for you, an urban-based campus will provide you with lots of potential, city slicker mates.
Even during the busy months of school, make sure you still look clean and attractive. You never know when you’re going to run into “the one” so be sure not to fall into the campus slob trap. Even if it seems like you have better ways to spend your time, taking a few minutes in the morning to make sure your hair is in place and your clothes are clean will pay off. Needless to say, beware of the freshman weight gain. Finding a potential boyfriend or girlfriend is a great motivation for regular gym visits.
Don’t be too hard on yourself if you don’t find your soul mate during your degree years. Sometimes it can take a long time to find a true love and you are still very young while you’re in college. It may seem frustrating but for many, potential spouses are met during their professional years.
You can’t force finding a true love but you can maximize your changes. Being a college student is a time when you will meet far more people than any other time in your life and there is ample time for socializing. Be sure to make the most of this opportunity and always be ready for the moment when Cupid’s arrow might strike!
